Its heart is the 1895 Sommerville house, a Late Victorian home on the City of Vernon's heritage register. It later became the home of artist Sveva Caetani, and the property was given to the City of Vernon.

Powerhouse Theatre
The Powerhouse Theatre is Vernon's community theatre, home to the Vernon Little Theatre. The building began life as Vernon's electrical power house. Volunteers converted it into a theatre, which opened on November 23, 1963. In 1973, the City transferred the building for a dollar on condition that the Vernon Little Theatre keep performing plays for the community. Today it seats 236.
Vernon & District Performing Arts Centre
