• Sprinklers and timers keep the same hours, three days a week, set by address: odd-numbered addresses on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday; even-numbered addresses on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
• Drip and micro-jet move to 7 p.m. to 10 a.m.

Stage 2

• Sprinklers and timers drop to two days a week: odd addresses on Tuesday and Saturday, even addresses on Wednesday and Sunday.
• Drip, micro-jet and hand watering are limited to three days a week on the Stage 1 schedule.

Stage 3

• Lawn sprinklers and timers are allowed one day a week, Saturday, for all addresses.
• Filling pools and water features with GVW water is restricted; small top-ups may be allowed.

Stage 4

• All aesthetic lawn and garden watering is prohibited.

Irrigation tips for East Hill properties

East Hill's slopes add a twist: water runs downhill fast, and sprinklers on a slope can waste a lot before it soaks in. A few ideas:

1. Water early, not at noon. Early morning watering loses less to evaporation and falls within the allowed hours in Normal through Stage 3.
2. Go shorter and more often within your allowed days. On a slope, two short cycles soak in better than one long one.
3. Convert beds to drip. Drip and micro-jet systems keep more flexibility when restrictions tighten.
4. Check your timer when stages change. An automatic controller that's still set to Normal can put you out of compliance.
5. Look for leaks. With metered water, a running toilet or a leaking irrigation line shows up on your bill.
6. Plant for the climate. Drought-tolerant plants and less lawn mean less watering stress every summer.
