The trade-off is elevation. The walk down is easy, but the return trip is a real climb from upper East Hill, especially with groceries or in icy weather. Walking one way and taking the bus the other is an easy compromise.

Fares as of October 2026
New fares take effect on October 1, 2026:
- A single local ride is $3, and a DayPASS is $6.
- If you pay with Umo stored value or contactless payment, you'll automatically get a DayPASS after paying two single fares in a day on local transit.
- Children 12 and under ride free.
- Youth aged 13 to 18 can ride free on local routes with a valid Youth Pass through the Umo app. The Route 90 to UBC Okanagan isn't included.
- Monthly passes and regional passes covering Route 90 are also available.

From Vernon, a multi-use path starts in the City Centre, runs through Polson Park and follows Kalamalka Lake Road to the trailhead on College Way in Coldstream.
